Columbus Ohio native Austin Cindric has known the sounds of racing since his first day on this earth.
He goes to bed at night with a photo of his grandfather, Jim Trueman, and his helmet from the Indy 500. That also gives him a connection with Ohio as Trueman was an Indy 500 winning team owner for Ohio’s own Bobby Rahal. He is also the founder for Red Roof in and former owner of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. That connection for Cindric is one that is extra special as he was nearly able to capture his first career win on the Lexington Ohio road Course in August.
Cindric is in his first full year of NASCAR Xfinity series racing, and broke up the season among three different cars. In fact, the last 5 races he has been in three different car numbers, with 5 different crew chiefs. He talks about that, racing at Richmond and the playoffs, along with his racing family in an interview with our own Steve Conley.
