Wellington Boys basketball team plays for chance at State Tonight

The Wellington School Boys basketball team will take on Clay Friday Night in a Division Four Regional Final at Ohio University in Athens.

The Wellington School comes in 20-7 and winners of five straight games. They won their district as a three seed by defeating East Knox 83-41, defeating Cardington Lincoln 80-43 and downing the number four seed Africentric. Welllington School then went on to beat Waterford 50-43 in the Regional Semifinals behind 15 points from Solomon Pierre-Louis.

Clay out of Portsmouth, were the number one seed in their District. They beat Manchester 81-42, defeated Miller 77-50 and beat South Webster 54-48. Clay then defeated Grove City Christian in double overtime 100-97. Clay boasts three different 1,000 point scorers.

The winner will take on the winner of Cincinnati Christian and Perry.
