Trojans win first ever District Title, Freddies moving on too

The Centerburg Trojans and Fredericktown Freddies High School Baseball teams are moving on to Regionals. Both teams won in District Finals on Thursday Night, advancing the pair to the next round.

Centerburg won their first ever District Title in baseball with a 5-4 win over Fisher Catholic on Thursday. The Trojans, who are the number two seed in Division four, took down Harvest Prep and Fairfield Academy in run rules before defeating Grove City Christian 9-7 in the District Semifinals. Last year Centerburg lost in the District Semifinals in Division Three.

The Trojans will next face off with Eastern in the Regional Semifinals at Beaver Field in Lancaster at 2pm Thursday. Reedsville Eastern run ruled Clay in a District Final. They have allowed just three total runs in four tournament games.

The Fredericktown Freddies know the feeling of winning a District Title, they did it last year too. The Freddies are moving on to Regionals thanks to an 8-1 win over West Jefferson.

The Freddies run ruled Bishop Ready, edged Bishop Ready 1-0 and beat the Roughriders in their run. They’ll take on Ridgewood at Mount Vernon High School in a Regional Semifinal on Thursday at 5pm.
