Northmor fails to Stop Centeburg’s Big Three in First Place battle

The Northmor Golden Knights went into Friday Night’s High School Boys Basketball Mid Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division matchup at Centerburg tied for first place in the Conference, they left one game back. Centerburg led after one and held on for a big home victory.

Centerburg, 11-5, 7-2, got a pair of threes from Senior Gunnar Gregory to give them a 10-9 lead after one. The Trojans extended the lead in the second by outscoring Northmor 11-4. In the third the Trojans and Golden Knights 10-5, 6-3, played to a tie as Ross Ryan got the Trojans up 11 with a three point play only to see the Golden Knights Tyler Kegley score late in the quarter to make it 31-26. After a timeout by Centerburg the Trojans inbounded to Senior Nate Johnson who nailed a three pointer at the buzzer to give the Trojans at 34-26 lead after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter the Trojans got great play from Junior Ross Ryan as he assisted on one play and had a three point play with 239 to play to give the Trojans a 9 point lead. Centerburg closed it out with a 46-36 win.

Centerburg was led in scoring by Gregory with 14 points, Ryan and Johnson each had 13 for Centerburg.

Northmor was led in scoring by Tyler Kegley with 10. Meechie Johnson had 8 and Kyle Kegley and Brock Pletcher each had 6 for the Golden Knights.
