NEWARK, Ohio, July 6, 2018 — In partnership with Tom Hawk and Hawk Galleries, The Works: Ohio
Center for History, Art & Technology presents Out of This World, a brand-new glass art exhibit featuring
glass artists’ interpretations of space, extraterrestrial life, and other worlds. As our technologies and
awareness of the universe have improved over the years, our imaginations of what other planets and
lifeforms may exist in the vast stretches of reality have inspired countless people, not only in the world
of STEM, but the art world as well. Featuring works from Rik Allen, David Huchthausen, Courtney
Branam, Robert Phillips, Josh Simpson, and The Works’ own Lawrence Tuber.

Out of This World opens in the Main Art Gallery at The Works on Friday, July 20 with an artist reception
from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public, and will be on display through
September 29.
